Academic and Legal Foundation
Osmani holds a Doctor of Juridical Science degree, having completed her legal education at the University of Pristina and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Before assuming the presidency, Osmani served as a Member of the Assembly of Kosovo from 2010 to 2021. Her parliamentary work included positions as the Speaker of the Assembly between 2020 and 2021. Osmani served as the acting president of Kosovo in 2020 following the resignation of Hashim Thaçi. In 2021, she was elected to a full presidential term, serving until 2026.
