Kim Tae-yeon, known as Taeyeon, launched her career in August 2007 as a member of the girl group Girls' Generation. Early Development and Training
Born on March 9, 1989, in Jeonju, South Korea, Taeyeon pursued formal vocal training at the SM Academy during her middle school years. She traveled to Seoul weekly to study under the singer The One. In 2004, she secured a contract with SM Entertainment after placing first in the SM Youth Best Competition. She later attended Jeonju Fine Arts High School, receiving the school's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.

Taeyeon gained early individual recognition through soundtrack contributions, including "If" for the drama Hong Gil-dong and "Can You Hear Me" for Beethoven Virus, both released in 2008. Her work on the latter earned a Popularity Award at the 2008 Golden Disk Awards. Her television career expanded into reality programming and hosting, with appearances on We Got Married, Begin Again, and Queendom 2. Since 2020, she has been a regular cast member on Amazing Saturday.
Solo Discography and Collaborative Projects
Her solo career solidified with the 2015 release of the extended play I, which reached the top of the Gaon Digital Chart. Subsequent studio albums include My Voice in 2017, Purpose in 2019, and INVU in 2022. Beyond her solo work, she has been a member of numerous projects such as Girls' Generation-TTS, SM the Ballad, Girls' Generation-Oh!GG, and the supergroup Got the Beat.
