Sidney Samson

The 2009 track "Riverside" propelled Amsterdam-born disc jockey Sidney V. Samson to international recognition, peaking at number one on the Dutch Top 40.

Early Career and Development

Born in 1981, Samson began his involvement with music as a disc jockey at thirteen. Initially focused on hip hop, he transitioned his professional output toward house music in 1999. His early presence in the industry was solidified through a residency at The Matrixx, a Dutch nightclub. During this period, he produced tracks such as "Bring That Beat Back" and "It’s All Funked Up" for the Digidance and Spinnin' Records labels, respectively.

Production and Labels

In 2007, Samson established his own record label, Samsobeats, following a collaboration with Gregor Salto. As his career progressed, he founded Rock the Houze to manage his subsequent releases, including "Dynamite" featuring Tara McDonald and the Nicky Romero remix. His production work has since expanded to include various collaborations and independent projects, such as "Filter," "Blasted," and "Music Box," all released through his own imprint in 2011.

Collaborative Output and Residencies

Samson has maintained a steady output of collaborations with international artists. He contributed to tracks by Kylie Minogue, David Guetta, Kelly Rowland, and Martin Solveig. His work in the studio includes "Change Your Life" with Far East Movement and Flo Rida, as well as "Better than Yesterday" with will.i.am. Beyond studio production, he has performed at prominent venues, including a residency at The Wynn in Las Vegas.
