Injury Challenges and Loan Spells

Persistent hip issues required major surgery in January 2007, which sidelined the forward for the remainder of that season. Following his recovery, he struggled to secure a starting role under management at the time. In March 2008, he moved to Stoke City on a loan agreement to assist their promotion campaign, though he failed to score in six appearances before returning to Newcastle.

Premier League and International Career

Ameobi became a key figure in the 2009–10 season, winning a Championship medal. He was later recognized as the league's player of the month for August 2009. Internationally, he initially represented England at the under-21 level. He made his debut for the Nigerian national team in 2012 and subsequently represented the nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Later Club Tenure

After departing Newcastle United in 2014, Ameobi played for Gaziantep BB in Turkey. He returned to English football for brief periods at Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers, Fleetwood Town, and Notts County. His career is notable for his status as one of the players with the fifth most appearances as a substitute in Premier League history.
