Selim Amallah made his competitive debut for the Morocco national football team on 15 November 2019 during a 0-0 draw against Mauritania. Born in Hautrage, Belgium, in 1996, the midfielder established his professional career across European leagues before securing a significant role within the Atlas Lions' squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament held in Qatar.

Early Career and Belgian League Tenure

Amallah began his senior footballing career in 2015 with Royal Excel Mouscron. He transferred to Tubize in 2016 for a single season before returning to Mouscron in 2017, where he was named the club's Player of the Year in 2019. In 2019, he joined Standard Liège. During his tenure there, he gained prominence in European competition; on 12 December 2019, he netted a goal against Arsenal in the Europa League. He later secured a 3-1 victory for the team in a 2020 Europa League play-off against Fehérvár by scoring two penalty kicks. In March 2021, he provided the decisive goal in a match against Eupen to propel Standard Liège into the Belgian Cup final.

Transition to La Liga

In January 2023, Amallah moved to Spain, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal with Real Valladolid. He made seven appearances for the club during the latter portion of the 2022-2023 season, during which the team faced relegation. Following this, he joined Valencia CF on a one-year loan agreement in August 2023. He eventually terminated his contractual link with Real Valladolid on 1 September 2025.

International Contributions and Recognition

Holding dual citizenship in Belgium and Morocco, Amallah opted to represent the Moroccan national team. He recorded his first international goal on 9 October 2020 against Senegal, assisted by Achraf Hakimi, and subsequently contributed an assist to Youssef En-Nesyri in the same match. In 2022, he was named to the 23-man roster for the FIFA World Cup, helping the team reach the semifinals and achieve a fourth-place finish. In recognition of his sporting achievements, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the Throne in 2022. Additionally, he received the Belgian Lion Award in November 2020, honoring the top player of Arab origin active in Belgium.
