Early Career and Junior Formulae
Born in Geneva to a Swiss father and French mother in 1986, Romain Grosjean began his competitive racing career in 2003. He secured all ten victories in the Formula Lista Junior championship that year. After a transition to the French Formula Renault series, he claimed the 2005 title with ten wins. Following a Formula 3 Euro Series championship victory in 2007, he moved to the GP2 Series. He won the inaugural GP2 Asia Series in 2008 and secured the main GP2 title in 2011.

Grosjean debuted in Formula One for Renault at the 2009 European Grand Prix, filling a vacancy left by Nelson Piquet Jr. He returned to the sport full-time in 2012 with Lotus alongside Kimi Räikkönen. During his tenure at Lotus, he achieved ten podium finishes, including a career-best seventh-place standing in the 2013 World Drivers' Championship. In 2016, he transitioned to the Haas team, where he remained until the conclusion of the 2020 season.
IndyCar and Sportscar Racing
In 2021, Grosjean shifted to the IndyCar Series, driving for Dale Coyne Racing. He earned a maiden pole position and podium at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis during his debut campaign. Over the subsequent seasons, he drove for Andretti and Juncos Hollinger before joining Lamborghini for a venture into the IMSA SportsCar Championship. In 2026, he resumed a full-time seat in the IndyCar Series with Dale Coyne Racing.
