Roh Tae-woo (1932–2021) was the President of South Korea from 1988 to 1993. He was born in Daegu on 4 December 1932. He died in Seoul National University Hospital on 26 October 2021, at the age of 89.
Roh Tae-woo served as President of South Korea (1988–1993), Minister of the Interior and Safety of South Korea (1982–1983), Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (in 1982) and Member of the National Assembly of South Korea.
Roh Tae-woo was awarded Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George, Grand Order of Mugunghwa and Order of the Crown of the Realm. He studied at Korea Military Academy and Kyeongbuk High School.
Roh Tae-woo married Kim Ok-sook. He had two recorded children, Roh Soh-yeong and Ro Jae-Hun. He is recorded as following Buddhism. The recorded cause of death is asthma.
