Academic Formation

In 1992, Rouquier joined the CNRS, eventually serving as a director of research starting in 2003. His academic career includes a tenure as Professor of Representation Theory at the University of Leeds from 2005 to 2006. He later served at Magdalen College, holding the position of Waynflete Professor of Pure Mathematics from 2006 until 2012. In 2012, he transitioned to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he remains active as a professor.
Awards and Distinctions
His research contributions have earned significant recognition. He received the Cours Peccot in 1999 and the Whitehead Prize in 2006. In 2009, he was honored with both the Adams Prize and the Élie Cartan Prize. He became a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2013 and a Simons Investigator in 2015.
