After his start at The Sun, he took over the News of the World in 1994, a role he held until 1995. Following this, he became editor of the Daily Mirror, remaining in the position until 2004. During his tenure at the Daily Mirror, he faced public criticism regarding the paper's coverage of the Euro 96 football championships and was later implicated in reports concerning the phone hacking scandal.
Broadcasting and Television Career
Morgan transitioned into television as a presenter and judge, appearing on America's Got Talent from 2006 to 2011 and Britain's Got Talent between 2007 and 2010. He hosted Piers Morgan's Life Stories from 2009 to 2020 and Piers Morgan Live on CNN from 2011 to 2014. From 2015 to 2021, he co-presented the ITV programme Good Morning Britain. Following a departure from the network in 2021, he hosted Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV from 2022 to 2024.
