Early Career and Karting
Raised in a family with deep ties to motorsport, Gasly first experienced a kart at age six in Anneville-Ambourville. He entered competitive karting in 2006. By 2010, he reached the international stage, finishing as the runner-up in the CIK-FIA European Championship. His formative years included schooling alongside Anthoine Hubert, with whom he shared long-term residential and racing experiences.

Gasly moved into single-seaters in 2011, taking third in the French F4 Championship. He transitioned to 2-litre Formula Renault machinery in 2012 before winning the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2013 with Tech 1 Racing. By 2014, he joined the Red Bull Junior Team and advanced to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, finishing second to Carlos Sainz Jr. His tenure in the GP2 Series included a 2016 championship victory with Prema Powerteam after a tightly contested season against Antonio Giovinazzi.
Formula One Entry and Red Bull Era
Gasly debuted in Formula One at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix with Toro Rosso, replacing Daniil Kvyat. He secured a full-time seat for 2018 before his 2019 promotion to the Red Bull senior team. Following a mid-season demotion to Toro Rosso, he earned his maiden podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix. His 2020 campaign with the rebranded AlphaTauri yielded his first Grand Prix win in Italy.
Transition to Alpine
In 2023, Gasly moved to Alpine. He achieved podium finishes for the team at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix and the 2024 São Paulo Grand Prix. As of the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix, his career record includes one race win, one pole position—achieved in 2026 at the Italian Grand Prix—three fastest laps, and five total podiums. He remains contracted to Alpine through 2028.
