A long-range shot against Denmark in the 90th minute secured a 2-1 victory for Turkey in 2014, marking Ozan Tufan's first international goal. Born in the Orhaneli district of Turkey on 23 March 1995, he has built a career as a versatile professional midfielder, accumulating extensive experience across domestic leagues in Turkey and England.
Early Career and Domestic Development
Tufan began his professional trajectory in the Süper Lig, starting with Bursaspor from 2012 to 2015, where he made 42 appearances and scored 3 goals. His progression included early representation for the Turkey national under-17 team in 2012 and the under-19 side. During this developmental period, he participated in the 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and earned a silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games held in Mersin.

The midfielder made his senior debut for the Turkey national team on 25 May 2014 in a match against Ireland in Dublin. His performance during his early tenure was highlighted by his composure under pressure, notably during his first international goal in September 2014. He has functioned primarily as an attacking midfielder but maintains the tactical flexibility to operate as a striker or right winger.
English Football Tenure
In August 2021, Tufan transferred to Watford on a season-long loan, marking his first professional experience outside Turkey. He struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, appearing in nine total competitions before his loan was terminated early in February 2022. By July 2022, he moved to Championship side Hull City on a three-year contract. He quickly made an impact, scoring on his debut against Bristol City and eventually securing the club's Player of the Month award for August 2023. A notable individual achievement during this stint was his hat-trick against Sheffield Wednesday on 12 August 2023.
Recent Club Transitions
Following his spell at Hull City, Tufan returned to the Turkish league. On 27 June 2024, he completed a transfer to Trabzonspor. His time at the club saw him contribute to a Turkish Cup title victory during the 2025–26 season.
