Oscar I of Sweden (1799–1859) was the King of Sweden and Norway between 1844–1859. He was born in Paris on 4 July 1799. He died in Stockholm Palace on 8 July 1859, at the age of 60.

The public offices recorded are Monarch of Sweden (1844–1859), Monarch of Norway (1844–1859) and Master-General of the Ordnance (1821–1844).

The honours on record include Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece (1844), Knight of the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky, Order of Saint Anna, 1st class, Order of St. Andrew and Knight Grand Cross of the Military Order of William (1849). Oscar I of Sweden was elected to Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences and Russian Academy of Sciences. He studied at Uppsala University and Lycée Louis-le-Grand.

Oscar I of Sweden was the son of Charles XIV John of Sweden and Désirée Clary. He married Josephine of Leuchtenberg. He had four recorded children, Carl XV of Sweden, Prince Gustaf, Duke of Uppland, Oscar II of Sweden and Prince August, Duke of Dalarna. He is recorded as following Lutheranism.
