The twelfth season of the Israeli singing competition HaKokhav HaBa ended in January 2026 with the victory of Noam Bettan. Early Career and Military Service
Bettan launched his professional music trajectory following the completion of mandatory military service within the Israel Defense Forces. His initial public exposure occurred in 2018 when he secured third place on the televised music program Aviv or Eyal. These early experiences established his profile within the domestic market before he transitioned into the production of his own studio material.

The artist commenced work on his debut album, Me'al HaMayim, around the turn of the decade. He sustained momentum through the release of multiple singles, including Ahavot leYom Ehad, Ba'ir Sheli, and KO. Between 2022 and 2023, his output continued with the release of Sakin BaLev and Lahzor HaBaita. The single Buba demonstrated commercial viability by reaching the third position on the Galgalatz radio charts. In 2024, he shifted toward thematic projects, releasing Pokeach Einayim, a track derived from a poem written by Yaron Oree Shay, a soldier killed during the events of October 7. He followed this in 2025 with the singles Madame and Sheva Dakot Be-Gan Eden.
Eurovision Song Contest 2026
Winning the twelfth season of HaKokhav HaBa earned Bettan the right to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 held in Vienna, Austria. His entry, Michelle, was co-written with Yuval Raphael, the country's representative from the previous year. During the semi-final performance, Bettan encountered disruptions and vocal disapproval from segments of the audience. He received public support from other contestants, notably Boy George representing San Marino and the eventual winner, the Bulgarian singer Dara. In the grand final, Bettan placed eighth according to the jury, third in the public vote, and secured second place overall. Upon returning home, he received a formal reception from President Isaac Herzog.
