Early Musical Development
Born in 1956 in Gzhatsk, now Gagarin, Noskov developed his musical sensibilities through early exposure to folk music. Following his family's move to Cherepovets, he participated in school choirs and local singing competitions. During his formative years, he taught himself to play the guitar, piano, and drums, while listening to Western rock records by the Beatles and Pink Floyd, often transcribing English lyrics into Cyrillic phonetics to master the songs.

After early engagements with ensembles like Nadezhda and the Tukhmanov-led band Moskva, Noskov gained prominence with Gorky Park, a project formed by Stas Namin to bridge Russian culture with Western hard rock. The band signed with Polygram records following a festival performance alongside the Scorpions. Noskov wrote the debut single Bang!, which achieved radio and MTV success in 1989 and secured gold status in Denmark. He departed the group in 1990.
Solo Career and Stylistic Evolution
By 1994, Noskov began establishing his solo identity, moving away from the hard rock sounds of his previous groups toward an art rock style rooted in ethnic musical traditions. His debut solo album, Blazh, arrived in 1998. Later works, such as 2006's Po poyas v nebe, integrated sounds like the Bashkir quray. In 2012, he recorded the album Bez nazvaniya in Germany, continuing his exploration of complex, non-commercial textures.
Professional Honours and Personal Life
Noskov has received several distinctions for his contributions, including the Merited Artist of Russia and the Prize of the Federal Security Service of Russia. He also holds the Medal for Strengthening of Brotherhood in Arms. In 2017, health issues involving a cervical thrombus resulted in the cancellation of scheduled concerts, though he has continued to remain active in the Russian music landscape, including participating in a 35th-anniversary event for the Stas Namin Centre in 2022.
