Prime Minister of India (1977-1979)

Morarji Desai (1896–1995) was the Prime Minister of India. Desai was born in Valsad district on 29 February 1896. He died in Mumbai on 10 April 1995, at the age of 99.

The public offices recorded are Minister of Home Affairs (1978–1979), Prime Minister of India (1977–1979), Member of the Lok Sabha and Minister of Finance (1967–1969).

The honours on record include Bharat Ratna (1991). Desai was educated at Wilson College, Mumbai.
