Domestic Career Progression
Beginning his athletic development in Apt and Avignon, Guigou moved to Montpellier Handball in 1999 for his professional debut. Over the next two decades, he helped define the club's trajectory, winning 10 French league titles and 11 French Cup trophies. His tenure at Montpellier concluded in 2019, at which point he signed with USAM Nîmes Gard. He remained active in club competition until his retirement in 2022 at age 40.

Guigou served as a regular member of the French national team during a period of immense success. He secured three Olympic gold medals in 2008, 2012, and 2020, alongside a silver medal in 2016. The European Handball Federation inducted Guigou into its Hall of Fame in 2023.
