Early Development and Training
Raised in China, Lu Han attended the Beijing Haidian Foreign Language Shi Yan School before moving to South Korea as an exchange student at Yonsei University. He pursued studies in Applied Music at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. After filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment on October 10, 2014, to nullify his contract, Lu Han transitioned into a solo artist. His 2015 debut album, Reloaded, achieved significant commercial success, becoming the first album in mainland China to receive platinum certification from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. He later expanded his discography with the XXVII project, a series of five digital albums released between 2016 and 2017 documenting his growth.
Film and Television Appearances
Lu Han made his feature film debut in 2015 with 20 Once Again, which set records as the highest-grossing Korean-Chinese co-produced motion picture. This role earned him the Newcomer of the Year award at the Beijing International Film Festival. He continued his acting career in 2015 with the thriller The Witness and starred in the 2016 fantasy-action feature Time Raiders. In 2017, he transitioned to television with a starring role in the series Fighter of the Destiny.
