Russian businessman (born 1974)

Konstantin Malofeyev launched his career in 1996 at the investment bank Renaissance Capital, marking the beginning of a trajectory that spanned senior roles at Interros and MDM Bank. Born in Pushchino in 1974, he later established the Marshall Capital Partners investment group, positioning himself as a significant figure in Russian finance, media management, and private charitable activities.

Early Career and Investment Banking

After graduating with a law degree from Moscow State University in 1996, Malofeyev gained experience at Renaissance Capital until its default in 1998. He subsequently held positions at various investment firms, including Interros. Between 2002 and 2004, he served as the Head of Corporate Finance at MDM Bank, where he managed the development of the bank's mergers and acquisitions practice.

Founding Marshall Capital Partners

In 2005, Malofeyev founded Marshall Capital, an investment group focused on direct equity in sectors such as media, telecommunications, agriculture, and real estate. By late 2014, the firm entered a management arrangement with CFG Capital to create a joint venture, CFG Marshall, with planned investments exceeding €2 billion. In 2009, Malofeyev served on the board of Svyazinvest OJSC during a period that involved the union of the company with Rostelecom.

Media and Philanthropic Organizations

Malofeyev serves as the chairman of the Tsargrad media group and is the president of the think tank Katehon. He founded the St. Basil the Great Charitable Foundation and the College St. Basil the Great. Additionally, he is a member of the board of trustees for the Safe Internet League and chairman of the non-governmental organization known as the Double-Headed Eagle.

Legal and Political Activity

In 2012, Malofeyev won a seat on the Council of Deputies of Znamenskoye Rural Settlement despite legal challenges regarding his candidacy. He has been involved in several high-profile legal matters, including a successful 2013 acquittal at the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom regarding a dispute with VTB Capital. He has also faced criminal proceedings in Ukraine and international sanctions related to his business and political activities.
