SpaceX Crew-7 launched on 26 August 2023, carrying Konstantin Sergeyevich Borisov into orbit as a flight engineer. Academic Background
Borisov completed his undergraduate studies at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, receiving a Bachelor of Economics on 27 June 2007. He extended his education internationally, attending the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK, from 27 September 2006 to 3 December 2007, where he earned a Master of Science in Operations Research and Systems Analysis. Later, he returned to academic research at the Moscow Aviation Institute. Between 2016 and 2018, he completed a Master program in Life Support Systems for Aircraft, qualifying as a Master in the field of Aircraft Building.

The transition to professional spaceflight began in 2018 when Borisov was selected as a cosmonaut alongside seven other candidates. He underwent intensive preparation over the following two years to meet the rigorous requirements of the Russian space program. By December 2020, he had successfully passed the state exam, confirming his status as a qualified test cosmonaut ready for flight assignments.
Expedition 69 and 70
As a member of the SpaceX Crew-7 mission, Borisov spent a significant duration in low Earth orbit. During his tenure as a flight engineer, he participated in the scientific and maintenance operations of Expedition 69 and 70. The mission concluded after 199 days in space, during which time he completed 3,184 orbits of the Earth. The crew returned to the surface on 12 March 2024, splashing down off the coast of Florida.
Professional Recognition
Borisov holds several state honors awarded by the Russian Federation in recognition of his service as a test cosmonaut. These include the title of Hero of the Russian Federation and the honorary title of Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation. Additionally, he has been designated an Honorary Blood Donor of Russia.
