Kiril Domuschiev rose to prominence in Bulgarian industry by navigating the post-1990 economic landscape through the establishment of diverse manufacturing and pharmaceutical enterprises. Born in Sofia in 1969, he utilized early ventures in clothing and footwear to pivot toward heavy industry and global pharmaceutical markets, eventually heading one of the nation's largest employer associations.
Early Industrial Expansion
After graduating from the Alphonse-de-Lamartine High School and earning a master's degree in Industrial Management and Marketing from the Technical University of Sofia, Domuschiev and his brother Georgi started manufacturing companies. By 1996, he formed the privatization fund Napredak Holding AD. This vehicle allowed for the acquisition of various industrial firms, including the forklift and bicycle manufacturer Balkan AD, where his mother, Margarita Domuschieva, served as director for over a decade.

In 1999, Domuschiev founded Huvepharma EOOD. A pivotal moment followed in 2000 with the privatization of Biovet AD, a veterinary products facility in Peshtera. Huvepharma developed into a global entity with manufacturing sites in the United States, France, Italy, and Bulgaria. In 2003, he and his brother formed Advance Properties OOD, an investment vehicle spanning media, construction, realties, and maritime operations. This firm acquired a majority stake in the historic Navigation Maritime Bulgare AD in 2008 and owns BMF Port Burgas, a critical hub for Black Sea logistics.
Sports and Media Ventures
Domuschiev’s interest in sports led to the acquisition of PFC Ludogorets 1945 EAD in 2010. Diversifying into media, he acquired the Nova Broadcasting Group in 2019, which operates seven television channels and a significant portfolio of digital platforms, including the country's most prominent news and sports websites.
Civic and Institutional Leadership
Beyond his corporate roles, Domuschiev has served as the Chairman of the Management Board of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees at the Technical University of Sofia in 2018. His charitable work includes the Kremena and Kiril Domuschiev Foundation, which supports medical institutions for children. In 2018, he secured a 100 million Euro loan from the European Investment Bank to modernize Biovet production sites.
