Naval Service and Administrative Career
Espinosa de los Monteros pursued a career in the Spanish Navy, eventually attaining the rank of Piloto Mayor at the Casa de Contratación. His tenure concluded with an honorable discharge, granted via royal decree in recognition of his special contributions to the Spanish Crown. Following his military service, he relocated to Mérida in the Department of Yucatan, which was then a part of New Spain.
