After departing Barcelona at the start of the 2014–15 season, Dos Santos signed a five-year contract with Villarreal, where he played alongside his brother, Giovani. In July 2017, he transferred to the LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer as a Designated Player. His tenure in Los Angeles concluded in November 2021 when the club declined to renew his expiring contract.
International Milestones
Dos Santos debuted for the Mexican national team on 30 September 2009 against Colombia, marking an unusual scenario where he represented his country before appearing for his club's senior side.
