Williams served as the principal conductor for the Boston Pops from 1980 to 1993. His portfolio of film scores is extensive, featuring major works such as the music of Star Wars, Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
