John III of Sweden (1537–1592) was a Swedish monarch. He was born in Stegeborg Castle on 20 December 1537. He died in Stockholm on 17 November 1592, at the age of 55.

John III of Sweden was the son of Gustav I of Sweden and Margaret Leijonhufvud. He married Catherine Jagellon and Gunilla Bielke. He had four recorded children, Sigismund III Vasa, Princess Anna of Sweden, John, Duke of Östergötland and Sofia Johansdotter (Gyllenhielm). He is recorded as following Lutheranism.
