Early Development and Education
Born in Chicago in 1979, Morrison grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She attended Prospect High School, where she participated in the marching band, choir, and pep squad, graduating in 1997. After early film appearances in Intersection and Stir of Echoes, Morrison achieved widespread recognition as Dr. Allison Cameron in the series House. Her involvement in television continued with recurring parts in How I Met Your Mother and a starring role as Emma Swan in Once Upon a Time. In cinema, she portrayed Winona Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek reboot and appeared in the 2011 sports drama Warrior.
Directorial Pursuits and Production
Beyond acting, Morrison founded the production company Apartment 3C Productions in 2016. Named after her former college residence, the company served as the label for her feature directorial debut, Sun Dogs, which was released in 2017 after Netflix acquired its global streaming rights.
