A suggestion from a hairstylist while shopping for groceries at age 14 initiated the professional trajectory of Maria Izabel Goulart Dourado. Originating from São Carlos, Brazil, she quickly moved to São Paulo to begin a modeling career that eventually expanded to France and led to a prominent presence on international runways and global fashion media.
Early Career and Runway Emergence
After moving to São Paulo at age 16 in August 2001, Goulart joined the agency Success. Her local career was facilitated by Ney Alves, director of Major Models Brazil. Despite a notable wardrobe malfunction during her first fashion show, she persisted in the industry. Her runway portfolio eventually included major houses such as Chanel, Valentino, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, and Dolce and Gabbana.

In 2005, Goulart signed as a Victoria's Secret Angel, an affiliation she maintained until 2008. She continued walking in the brand's annual fashion show until 2016. Her commercial work extended to becoming the face of A/X Armani Exchange, replacing Alessandra Ambrosio in 2008.
