Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan, born in Mumbai in 1974, is an Indian actor and dancer who established his career within the Hindi cinema industry. Transitioning from early work as an assistant director and child performer, he achieved prominence as a leading man at the turn of the century, frequently collaborating with his father, film director Rakesh Roshan.

Early Career and Training

Before pursuing a full-time acting career, Roshan attended Sydenham College in Mumbai, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. His practical industry experience began as an assistant director on four of his father's films: Khudgarz, King Uncle, Karan Arjun, and Koyla. During this period, he also received formal training in acting under Kishore Namit Kapoor.

Breakthrough and Cinematic Recognition

Roshan made his first leading appearance in the 2000 romantic drama Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. His dual performance in the project earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 2001. He later received his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 2004 for his work in the science fiction production Koi... Mil Gaya.
