By 2007, she attained the rank of Grandmaster, becoming the twelfth woman in history to reach this designation. Her tactical performance peaked during the 2005 European Club Cup for Women in Saint-Vincent, Aosta Valley, where she recorded an 80.0 percent score while playing on board one.
Major Continental Victories
She claimed the European Women's Rapid Championship, also known as the Maia Chiburdanidze's Cup, in Kutaisi in 2011. Her success persisted in 2013 when she secured the European Women's Championship, finishing with nine points from 11 games after winning seven matches and drawing four. These titles solidified her standing in European competitive chess.
Olympiad Participation and World Championships
Hoang appeared in ten Women's Chess Olympiads between 1994 and 2014, splitting her appearances equally between Vietnam and Hungary. Additionally, she maintained a consistent presence at the Women's World Chess Championship, qualifying for the tournament in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2018.
