Helen Zille (born 1951) is a South African journalist and local politician. She was born in Johannesburg on 9 March 1951.
Helen Zille held office as mayor of Cape Town (2006–2009), Premier of the Western Cape (2009–2019) and Member of Provincial Parliament of Western Cape (2014–2019). She was attached to The Rand Daily Mail.
Helen Zille received Reinhold Maier Medal (2012), Abraham Geiger Prize (2011), Freedom Prize (2014) and World Mayor (2008). She studied at University of the Witwatersrand.
Helen Zille married Johann Maree.
