His responsibilities extended beyond artistic creation, as he also served as a councilman for the municipality. Throughout this period, he focused on the design and execution of numerous altarpieces.
Relocation and Final Works
Around 1510, he transferred his residence to Bern. He continued his work there until his death in 1520. His inventory of surviving pieces includes significant commissions such as the Saint Mary's Altar and the 1514 John the Baptist Triptych, with panels currently distributed between museum collections in Basel, Zurich, and Fribourg.
