Formative Years
The youngest of nine children, Ziyech grew up in Dronten, Flevoland. He began his football journey at the local club Reaal Dronten in 2001. His development was heavily influenced by Aziz Doufikar, the first Moroccan national to appear in the Eredivisie. Following the death of his father in 2003, Ziyech faced significant personal challenges, including periods of delinquency and school disengagement, but ultimately prioritized his athletic path, joining the SC Heerenveen academy in 2007.

Ziyech commenced his professional career at Heerenveen in 2012, moving to FC Twente two years later. His talent flourished following a transfer to AFC Ajax in 2016 for a reported €11m. During his tenure at Ajax, he became a central figure, achieving his most prolific campaign in 2018–19 with 16 goals and 13 assists in the Eredivisie, and earning the AFC Ajax Player of the Year award in 2018.
International and Global Play
Although he represented the Netherlands at Under-20 and Under-21 levels, Ziyech chose the Morocco national team for his senior career, debuting in 2015. His international contributions include serving as captain during parts of his tenure and leading the team to reach the semi-finals of a major global tournament. He has pledged his international earnings to charity and was named an Officer of the Order of the Throne in 2022.
Club Transitions
Following his successful spell in Amsterdam, Ziyech transferred to English club Chelsea for the 2020–21 season, where he contributed to a UEFA Champions League victory.
