Early Career and Collaboration
Born in 1931 in Gothenburg, Lindblom established a prominent career as a film actor, screenwriter, and filmmaker. She gained significant professional recognition through her association with the work of Ingmar Bergman. During the production of the film The Virgin Spring, a health crisis involving appendicitis led to her hospitalization, where she met her first husband, physician Sture Helander. The couple remained together until their divorce in 1970 and had three children.

Beyond her film commitments, Lindblom maintained a consistent presence on stage. In 1965, she portrayed the lead in Miss Julie for BBC Television. Between 1998 and 2000, she assumed the role of The Mummy in a production of The Ghost Sonata. Later, during the Royal Dramatic Theatre's 100-year jubilee in 2008, she appeared as the mother of Tintomara in the play The Queen's Tiara. She also directed theatrical works, including a 2009 production that featured Stina Ekblad and Irene Lindh.
Personal Life and Final Years
Following her separation from Helander, Lindblom married Frederik Dessau, a Danish director. This marriage lasted for five years before ending in divorce. Lindblom continued her artistic endeavors until later in life. She died on 24 January 2021 at the age of 89 in Brottby, following a period of illness. Her contributions to the Swedish arts were formally recognized through multiple honors, including the Eugene O'Neill Award, the Litteris et Artibus in 1988, and the Swedish Academy's Theatre Award in 2002.
