Following a contract dispute involving the film One Hour with You, he moved to RKO under David O. Selznick. At RKO, he directed several major films including A Bill of Divorcement, Little Women, and What Price Hollywood? He later followed Selznick to MGM, contributing to David Copperfield and Romeo and Juliet.
Awards and Later Career
Cukor is noted for directing numerous films such as The Philadelphia Story, Gaslight, and A Star Is Born. His professional recognition includes a Golden Plate Award in 1970 and a Primetime Emmy Award in 1975 for the production Love Among the Ruins.
