The release of 'Una storia importante' in 1985 expanded his commercial reach, particularly in France, where the single reached one million sales. By 1990, his fifth album, 'In ogni senso', prompted an international press launch in Venice. He performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, becoming the first Italian artist to headline that venue. Throughout the 1990s, he achieved significant chart success across Europe and Latin America, notably with the five-million-selling album 'Tutte storie' in 1993.
