Following a period managing drivers at Gravity Sport Management starting in 2008, Boullier entered Formula One in 2010 as team principal for Renault F1. He remained with the organization through its transition to Lotus Renault GP and eventually the Lotus F1 Team, concluding his tenure in January 2014. That same month, he joined the McLaren Formula One team as racing director, a position he held until his resignation in July 2018.
Strategic Roles and Rally Operations
After his time at McLaren, Boullier shifted his focus to the French Grand Prix as an operational advisor and strategic sports ambassador in 2019, later serving as managing director in 2020. His involvement in motorsport also includes participation as a driver in the 2019 EnduroKA season. In 2026, he accepted the role of chief executive officer at WRC Promoter GmbH, taking responsibility for the commercial rights and promotion of both the World Rally Championship and the European Rally Championship following the acquisition of the company by Cosmobilis and Park Square Capital.
