Emam Ashour, born on 20 February 1998 in Mansoura, is a professional footballer who has played as a midfielder, winger, second striker, and right-back. Known for his versatility on the pitch, he has competed for several clubs including Ghazl El Mahalla, Haras El Hodoud, Zamalek, Midtjylland, and Al Ahly, while also serving as a focal point for the Egypt national team.
Early Career and Haras El Hodoud
Ashour developed within the youth sector of Ghazl El Mahalla before joining the first team. In 2018, he moved to Haras El Hodoud on a deal involving a two-season loan structure. During the 2018–19 campaign, he made 32 appearances, recording four goals and one assist. His performances led to interest from Al Masry SC, though he eventually transitioned to Zamalek in August 2019 under a five-season contract.

Upon joining Zamalek, Ashour contributed to winning the 2018–19 and 2020–21 Egypt Cup, as well as the 2020–21 and 2021–22 Egyptian Premier League titles. His time there included disciplinary challenges, notably a suspension following an altercation with Al Ahly player Walid Soliman after the 2020 Egyptian Super Cup. He departed for Danish club Midtjylland during the 2022–23 season.
Al Ahly and International Success
Ashour returned to Egypt to join Al Ahly, where he secured the 2023–24 Egyptian Premier League title, the CAF Champions League, and the FIFA African–Asian–Pacific Cup. He was named to the Egyptian Premier League Team of the Season in both 2023–24 and 2024–25. Internationally, he won the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations and participated in the 2020 Olympics and multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He was also a key player in Egypt's 2026 World Cup campaign, helping the team reach the round of 16.
