By 1990, she secured an honourable mention at the Opole Polish Song Festival. Her theatrical experience includes roles in Metro, a production that eventually reached Broadway. Górniak represented Poland at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest with the song To nie ja, earning second place and establishing a record for the highest placement for a Polish artist. This track became the most significant Polish hit of 1994. Her debut studio album, Dotyk, released in 1995, achieved diamond certification in Poland. She continued this momentum with singles like Jestem kobietą, the title track Dotyk, and To Atlanta!, the official Polish hymn for the 1996 Olympic Games.
International Expansion and Recording
In 1997, she released her debut English-language album, Edyta Górniak, featuring collaborations with international songwriters and a contribution from tenor José Carreras. The single One and One secured a position on the European Radio Top 50. Her 2002 album, Perła, achieved gold status in Poland during a period of industrial decline. Following her international release, Invisible, in 2003, she pursued further collaborations, including a performance with the metal band Sweet Noise.
