Droupadi Murmu (born 1958) is the President of India since 2026. Murmu was born in Mayurbhanj district on 20 June 1958.
The public offices recorded are Member of the Thirteenth Odisha Legislative Assembly (2004–2009), Member of the Twelfth Odisha Legislative Assembly (2000–2004), Governor of Jharkhand (2015–2021) and President of India (from 2022).
The honours on record include honorary doctor of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (2025) and honorary companion of the Order of Fiji (2024). Murmu studied at Rama Devi Women's University (bachelor's degree).
Murmu was the daughter of Biranchi Narayan Tudu. She married Shyam Charan Murmu.
