David John McDonald, known professionally as David Tennant, is a Scottish actor whose career spans decades of theatre, television, and film. His RSC roles include Touchstone in As You Like It, Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors, and the title character in Hamlet. On television, he achieved recognition for his performance as Campbell Bain in the drama series Takin' Over the Asylum. His screen career includes appearances in the film Jude and the television series Blackpool and Casanova.
