This performance earned him a People's Choice Award for Favorite Action Star in 1983. He later moved into executive production with Baywatch, which premiered in 1989. After initially being cancelled, he purchased the rights to the series and produced it for syndication, eventually overseeing a show that reached nearly 1 billion viewers across 140 countries.
Diversification into Music and Broadway
Beyond acting, Hasselhoff developed a career in the music industry, releasing fifteen studio albums and performing on the children's program Kids Incorporated.
