During this period, he captured the World Heavyweight Championship three times, the ECW Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the WWE Championship twice, and the World Tag Team Championship. He notably secured back-to-back victories in the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2008 and 2009. After an initial departure, he returned to the organization in 2019, followed by a permanent return in 2023, subsequently securing further championship honors.
Transition to Mixed Martial Arts
Seeking a challenge outside of professional wrestling, Brooks signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2014.
