Simple Plan has sold over 15 million records worldwide, with Charles-André "Chuck" Comeau serving as the band's primary drummer since its inception in 1999. Born in Montreal in 1979, Comeau transitioned from early punk rock beginnings into a globally recognized musical career, simultaneously managing interests in apparel production and video direction throughout his time in the music industry.
Early Career and Transition
Comeau began his music career in 1993 at the age of 13 by forming the punk rock band Reset alongside Pierre Bouvier. During his six-year tenure, he contributed to the 1997 album No Worries. In 1998, he departed the group to pursue legal studies at McGill University, having previously attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. This academic pivot was brief; he soon left McGill to return to music, reuniting with Bouvier after a chance encounter at a Sugar Ray concert. The pair recruited schoolmates Sébastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco to form Simple Plan in 1999.

As the percussionist for Simple Plan, Comeau has appeared on every studio album released by the group, including No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, Still, Not Getting Any, Simple Plan, Get Your Heart On!, Taking One for the Team, and Harder Than It Looks. The band has also produced two live albums and two EPs. For his stage and studio setups, Comeau utilizes DW drums, pedals, and hardware, complemented by Evans drumheads, Promark sticks, and Zildjian cymbals.
Entrepreneurial and Creative Projects
Outside of drumming, Comeau co-founded the apparel company Role Model Clothing in 2001 with Pierre Bouvier and Patrick Langlois. The brand was established to reflect their musical lifestyle and remained active until 2010. Although the venture experienced a hiatus due to the demands of producing the band’s fourth studio album, select original designs were re-released in 2017 to mark the 15th anniversary of Simple Plan's debut. Furthermore, Comeau expanded into visual media by directing and appearing in the 2002 video album A Big Package for You.
