Early Career and Legal Practice
Born in 1888 in Bhor, India, Agashe moved through several professional roles before settling into industry. After receiving his education at Fergusson College and the Government Law College in Mumbai, he established himself as a jurist. Between 1920 and 1932, he served as the chief justiciar for the Bhor State, working under the 10th and 11th Rajas. During this period, he became a regular contributor to the newspaper Kesari, using his writing to comment on local administrative and political affairs.

Upon founding the Brihan Maharashtra Sugar Syndicate Ltd. in 1934, Agashe introduced a specific fundraising technique that became known as the Agashe pattern. This method of equity crowdfunding allowed him to secure the necessary capital for his company while maintaining support from the business community in Maharashtra. He continued to manage the syndicate until his death in 1956, during which time he also served as a founding member of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture.
Public Service and Philanthropy
Agashe maintained a commitment to education and social advancement throughout his career. He provided significant financial support to organizations such as the Deccan Education Society, the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, and the Maharashtra Mandal. Between 1953 and 1955, he served as a co-vice president of the Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal. His name persists in several institutions today, including a college of physical education, a business training center at the Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, and a museum wing at the Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum.
