His early experience included military service within the infantry regiment of the Prussian Army based in Minden, after which he spent time working in his father's commercial chimney construction business.

In 1899, Miele entered into a partnership with Reinhard Zinkann to launch the company that would bear his name. The firm focused on home appliances, eventually growing into a multinational manufacturer. Throughout his tenure, the business maintained a strict structure as a family-owned entity. Personal Life and Final Years
Miele married Katharina Zuwickern on 22 April 1896, and the couple had five children: Carl Miele Jr., Anna, Maria, Heinrich, and Margarete. He became an honorary citizen of Gütersloh, the city where he resided later in life. He passed away in Gütersloh on 24 December 1938 at the age of 69. He received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice award during his lifetime for his contributions.
