Early Career and European Tenure
Parker began his professional journey at the School of Excellence, followed by a tenure at Hellenic FC, which later became Benoni Premier United and subsequently Thanda Royal Zulu FC. In 2009, he moved to the Serbian side Red Star Belgrade. Following a brief stint there, he joined FC Twente in the Netherlands. During his time with Twente, he secured the 2009-10 Eredivisie title and the 2010 Johan Cruyff Shield. His European path also included a loan to the Greek club Panserraikos during the 2010-11 season.

In 2011, Parker returned to South Africa to sign with Kaizer Chiefs. Over the next decade, he became a central figure for the club, recording over 350 appearances and scoring more than 60 goals. His tenure yielded two Premier Soccer League titles, the Nedbank Cup, and the MTN 8. He received the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot for the 2013–14 season after scoring 10 league goals. The club released him in June 2022 upon the expiration of his contract.
National Team and Later Playing Years
Parker debuted for South Africa in 2007 against Malawi. He represented his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2013 African Cup of Nations. Notable international highlights include scoring both goals in a 2–0 victory over New Zealand during the 2009 Confederations Cup and netting the winner against Spain. He also claimed the Golden Boot at the 2014 African Nations Championship. In August 2022, he joined TS Galaxy. Following a leg injury sustained against Mamelodi Sundowns in October 2023, he announced his retirement from playing in July 2024.
Coaching Transition
Following his retirement from competitive play, Parker shifted his focus toward management. Ahead of the 2024-25 season, he took on the role of head coach for the TS Galaxy reserve side, operating within the PSL Reserve League structure.
