Her role as Sharpay Evans in the 2006 film High School Musical significantly increased her visibility, leading to a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records. Her debut album, Headstrong, reached number five on the Billboard 200 in 2007 and achieved gold certification. She simultaneously provided the voice for the character Candace Flynn in the long-running animated series Phineas and Ferb.
