Arjen Robben

Arjen Robben, a winger born in Bedum in 1984, established himself as a fixture in European football through a distinctive tactical approach of cutting inside from the right flank. Early Career and Eredivisie Success

Robben began his senior path at FC Groningen during the 1999–2000 season. After establishing himself as a regular starter, his performance earned him the club's player of the year honor for the 2000–01 campaign. In 2002, he moved to PSV Eindhoven for a fee of €3.9 million. At PSV, he secured a Dutch league title and received the Talented Player of the Year award. His partnership with Mateja Kežman, labeled by fans as Batman and Robben, highlighted his offensive influence before his high-profile departure to England.

Premier League and La Liga Tenure

Chelsea acquired Robben in 2004 for €18 million. Despite early challenges with injuries, he became a core contributor to back-to-back Premier League title victories under manager José Mourinho and secured the Premier League Player of the Month award in November 2004. By 2007, he moved to Real Madrid for €35 million, where he contributed to a La Liga championship in his debut season.

Dominance with Bayern Munich

The transfer to Bayern Munich in August 2009 for €25 million marked the most productive phase of his career. As the club's top scorer in the 2009–10 season, he helped secure a domestic double and was named German Footballer of the Year. His tenure was highlighted by a continental treble in the 2012–13 season. In the 2013 Champions League final, he assisted the opening goal and scored the winning strike against Borussia Dortmund, earning Man of the Match honors.

International Representation

Debuting for the Netherlands in 2003, Robben participated in multiple major tournaments, including the 2004, 2008, and 2012 UEFA European Championships, along with the 2006, 2010, and 2014 FIFA World Cups. He reached the 2010 World Cup final and finished third in 2014, where he received the Bronze Ball and a place in the tournament's All-Star Team.
