Formative Years and Education
Born in Odesa on 13 December 1946, Vorokhta pursued her formal art education under the guidance of Mykola Zaitsev. She subsequently enrolled at the Odesa Pedagogical Institute named after K. D. Ushynsky, graduating from its art and graphics faculty in 1971. Throughout her development, she refined her technical skills under the mentorship of Viktor Yefymenko, a relationship that provided the foundation for her later mastery of complex graphic media.

For more than 50 years, Vorokhta served as an educator, instructing at both the Ushynsky Pedagogical Institute and the Grekov Odesa Art School. Her pedagogical influence reached many contemporary practitioners. Among those who studied under her guidance are Oleksandr Bilozor, Ivan Shyshman, Nataliia Aksyonova, Victor Korenyok, Serhii Tkachenko, Serhii Paprotskyi, Nataliia Popova, and Halyna Karaman. Her professional standing was recognized in 2008 when she became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Vorokhta’s graphic output is characterized by a high level of technical precision, utilizing media such as pen drawing, graphite pencil, sepia, sanguine, pastel, gouache, and watercolor to achieve velvety textures and complex monochromatic gradations. Her work moved beyond singular categorization, incorporating decorative forms such as macrame, thread graphics, and art dolls. Her reach extended internationally, with regular participation in major forums including the 2012 International Biennial of Drawing in Plzeň and the 2019 XII Florence Biennale. Her creations are now housed in national museums and private collections across 67 countries.
Exhibition History
Throughout her career, Vorokhta maintained an active exhibition schedule. Key exhibitions included the 2010 showcase at the O. M. Bilyi Museum of Fine Arts, 'Dreams and Memories' in 2012, and 'Urbi & Orbi' in 2013. Her later work was featured in 'E pluribus unum' at the Potocki Palace in Lviv (2016), 'A Moment as Long as a Life' (2016), and 'Linea tenera et aspera' (2019). Her final major retrospective, 'The Line of Life', took place in Odesa between 2021 and 2022. She died in her native city of Odesa on 17 February 2025.
