Early Career and Residency
Born in 1858 in Kharkiv, Michon held French citizenship. He spent the initial stages of his professional life operating a photography studio within his birthplace. Following this period, he relocated to Baku, where he resided for 25 years. This geographic shift placed him at the center of a rapidly developing industrial hub, facilitating his transition from still photography to the burgeoning field of cinematography.

In 1898, Michon focused his camera on the surrounding landscape and urban movement. His filmography includes industrial subjects such as 'Balaxanida neft fontani' and 'Bibiheybatda neft fontani yangini', which captured oil gushes and fires. He further documented social and infrastructure scenes, including 'Bazar küçasi sübh çag', 'Şəhər bağında xalq gəzintisi', and the arrival of trains at the railroad station. These short sequences served as immediate records of public activity and transport operations.
Cinematic Documentation and Legacy
Beyond industrial scenes, Michon recorded cultural and administrative events, such as the 'Qafqaz raqsi' and the farewell ceremony for the Emir of Bukhara. He also filmed 'Balaxanı-Sabunçu polis idarəsi süvari qorodovoyların at oynatmaları' and the short 'Ilisdin'. His final recorded year of production was 1898. Michon died in 1921 at the age of 63 in Samara, leaving a body of work that established the initial cinematic record for the region.
