By 1864, he moved into the Ministry for Civil Service Affairs, followed by work at the Office of the Minister for Justice in 1869. He served as a member of the Legislation Committee from 1871 and reached the position of Justice of the Supreme Court of Sweden, serving from 1874 until 1886.
